Why horror subscriptions need a format split
A narrated story compilation, a paranormal investigation series, and a horror game playthrough all get watched differently โ one works as background audio, the others need your full attention. A flat feed doesn't distinguish between them, so a video you'd only half-listen to and one you'd sit down for both show up the same way.

Narration & Storytelling, Paranormal Investigation, Analysis & Documentary, Horror Game Playthroughs. The most useful split since these formats serve genuinely different viewing moments.
By how you watch
Background Listening (narration, compilations) versus Active Watching (playthroughs, investigation footage, analysis). A simpler two-folder version of the format split, useful if you mostly care about whether you can multitask while it plays.

If you're starting from scratch, this four-folder layout covers most horror subscription lists:
- Narration & Stories โ creepypasta, true-story compilations, narrated horror
- Paranormal โ investigation series and footage-based channels
- Analysis & Documentary โ video essays and horror media breakdowns

Set it up in FolderTube
- Install FolderTube from the Chrome Web Store.

- Press the sync button to pull in every channel you follow.
- Create the folders above and drag channels in based on the format they mostly post, not just the general horror label.
- Open the Subscriptions page and filter by folder depending on whether you want background listening or a full-attention watch.

Narration channels tend to accumulate fastest since there are so many of them and they post frequently. Once that folder gets crowded, subfolders (Narration > True Stories / Fiction) keep it scannable without splitting horror into a dozen top-level folders.
Use Mark as Watched to track long playthroughs
Horror game playthroughs often run in multi-part series. Mark as Watched greys out episodes you've already gone through and adds a checkmark, so picking up a series mid-way doesn't mean re-scanning which part you left off on.
